Croton-On-Hudson, NY, February 5, 2010–The fifth annual CHEF Dine-A-Round, on January 30th was a huge success, raising over $10,000 to support the Croton-Harmon Schools.

The evening started at 6:00 p.m. with appetizers at the home of Bruce and Electra Martin. Guests mingled while listening to the talented Croton-Harmon High School string musicians, directed by Sara Worden.

At 8:00 p.m., guests divided up for dinner at 14 different homes around town. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly while catching up with old friends and meeting new friends along the way.

After dinner, dessert and dancing took place at the home of Dan and Hayley McNatty. Guests indulged in sumptuous desserts while dancing their socks off to Croton’s very own The Real Rough Diamonds.

Demetra Restuccia, co-chair of the event said, “I am deeply moved by the generosity of so many in our town: the foodies who cooked, the homeowners who shared, the musicians who played, and the friends who came out in support of our schools.”

Mark your calendars now for the next big CHEF fundraiser. The Under The Stars Dinner Dance & Auction will be held on May 22nd at the Senasqua Lodge in Croton Point Park– you won’t want to miss this wonderful opportunity to support your local schools and help CHEF celebrate its 10th Anniversary.

If you have a program idea for the Croton-Harmon Schools – please share it with CHEF. Applications can be filled out by students, teachers or parents. The next grant cycle will occur in April 2010. Through the generous support of the Croton community, CHEF has awarded grants of more than $480,000 for a variety of initiatives, many of which give students unique educational experiences that go beyond the scope of traditional classroom learning.
