Croton-On-Hudson, NY, Nov 5, 2009–The Croton-Harmon Education Foundation (CHEF) hosted their second annual house tour on Saturday, October 24th. Despite the bad weather, dozens of people wandered on this self-guided tour through five fabulous Croton homes, and the Hudson National Golf Clubhouse. This year’s homes all shared one thing in common – a great view! CHEF raised almost $2000 for the Croton-Harmon Schools and received wonderful feedback from participants about the event.
Marc Possidento, General Manager of Hudson National Golf Club said, “The Club was thrilled to take part in the House Tour! We look forward to participating next year.”
Sabina Barach, former CHEF President, attended the house tour and commented, “What a wonderful day – seeing so many beautiful views from all parts of Croton. This was an inspired idea created by wonderful new CHEF board members. I love the way this brings the community together while supporting the Croton-Harmon schools.”
Demetra Restuccia, Co-Chair of the event, said, “I am thankful for the community members who came out to support the Croton-Harmon Schools. And I am so grateful to the homeowners for sharing their homes and their hearts with CHEF. The homeowners include the Morgan-Ackerman family, the Nathan family, the Nguyen family, the Robinson family, the Whitten family, and of course the members of the Hudson National Golf Club”
If you have a program idea for the Croton-Harmon Schools – please share it with CHEF. Applications can be filled out by students, teachers or parents. The next grant cycle will occur in November. The Croton-Harmon Education Foundation is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Through the generous support of the Croton community, CHEF has awarded grants of more than $480,000 for a variety of initiatives, many of which give students unique educational experiences that go beyond the scope of traditional classroom learning.
